Designing a Productive and Beautiful Home Office

With more of us working from home than ever, having a space that’s both functional and inspiring is key. Here’s how to create a home office that boosts focus without sacrificing style.

Choose the Right Spot Pick a quiet, well-lit area, ideally near a window. If space is tight, a corner or even a closet (“cloffice”) can work wonders.
Prioritize Comfort
Invest in an ergonomic chair and a desk that suits your posture. Your back (and productivity) will thank you.
Layer Your Lighting
Use a mix of natural light, task lighting, such as a desk lamp, and ambient light to reduce eye strain and create a warm vibe. Make sure to consider the angle of the light to avoid glare on your computer.
Keep It Organized
Clutter distracts. Use shelves, baskets, and drawer organizers to keep things tidy and make the space look cleaner. Also make sure to hide the tech mess by tying up cables and running them through cord covers. Clean design = clean mind.

Add Personal Touches
Incorporate art, photos, plants, and a rug to reflect your style. A space that feels like you is a space you’ll want to work in.
Bring in Greenery
Even one plant can brighten your space and improve focus. Biophilic design is important because it connects people with nature in built environments, promoting well-being, reducing stress, and enhancing creativity and productivity. Keep an eye out for our next blog post—we’ll be diving deeper into the world of biophilic design!
